Produttori del Barbaresco

Produttori del Barbaresco

Created in 1894 by Domizio Cavazza, a local headmaster at the Royal Enological School in Alba, by gathering together 9 Barbaresco vineyard owners to create the “Cantine Sociali”. The cooperative was forced to close during the 1920’s due to fascist economic rule and in post-war Italy the only way for Barbaresco to survive was to band together once again… and from the ashes Produttori del Barbaresco was born. Nowadays, the cooperatives is situated in the village of Barbaresco and boasts 50 members with 100 hectares of vines in the Barbaresco appellation. They are without doubt the finest cooperative in Piedmont.
