La Scolca
One of the original producers of elegant, dry Gavi wines, Piedmont-based La Scolca and the Soldati family pioneered using the Cortese grape to craft exceptional, crisp, still white wines, in a region heralded for its reds. The estate is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Soldati family, Giorgio and Chiara, and the 60-year-old vines produce Gavi wines that age well, as well as show exuberance and freshness.
