The Chateau Lanessan vineyard is located in the Haut Medoc appellation of Bordeaux, situated in the commune of Cussac-Fort-Medoc running east to west along a fine ridge of deep Garonne gravel. The vineyard is made up of 45 hectares of vines with the average age of about 30 years. The vineyard is planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. The Lanessan vineyard remained in the Bouteiller family for eight generations but in August 2009 Paz Espejo took over the management from Hubert Bouteiller.
