Chateau Fonroque

The spiritual home of the Moueix family, who took over this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru property in 1931, Chateau Fonroque is a biodynamically farmed estate well known for its excellent Merlot based wines. The vineyard stretches to just under 18 hectares, planted on a single plot to the north-west of the town of Saint-Emilion, with an average vine age of 35 years. The wine is typically around 85 percent Merlot and 15 percent Cabernet Franc.
