Malvasia
Malvasia
A very old red grape, with a history rooted in Greece and the Mediterranean, Malvasia is produced across Europe, notably in Italy, Spain and Portugal. The grape is used today in a variety of wines, including Malmsey on the island of Madeira, and is blended with Viura in Rioja. Although red-skinned, the grape is most often used in white blends where it adds body and texture.
