Located on the eastern edge of the Right Bank’s famous Pomerol appellation, Chateau Vieux Maillet is home to nearly nine hectares of vines, planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, alongside a small planting of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is not well known in the UK market but should be, with its rich, structured fruit and beautifully integrated notes of spice and fine tannins. Built to last, it offers all the hallmarks of exceptional Pomerol and is definitely worth investigation for fans of striking Right Bank wines.
