Cinsault

Cinsault, or Cinsaut, is a dark-skinned grape grown in the South of France and most often used as a wine for blending - notably as one of the permitted minor varieties in Chateauneuf du Pape. It is also used as a partner for Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah as part of the classic Southern Rhone blend and is grown in Morocco, Algeria and Lebanon, showing its love for a warm, dry climate. Cinsault is used in blends to add aroma and light flavours, typically of red berries and cherries.
