Austria is landlocked on all sides, however, most of the wine growing regions are in the east of the country, where geological and climatic condition are more favourable for the production of high-quality wines such as fresh, mineral Gruner Veltliner and Riesling, as well as fruit-forward, lucious reds from Zweigelt and St. Laurent.
