Quinta do Panascal is a single vineyard from which grapes are harvested and then blended to make Fonseca. A very conservative nose with blackberry, black coffee and just a hint of orange blossom. Moderate definition on the ripe, fleshy palate, which is surprisingly soft, and supple, overtly expressive at this early stage. Cherry, ripe strawberry and yet again a tang of blood orange and a dash of white pepper on the finish. Just lacking a bit of oomph on the finish. Tasted July 2007.” Neil Martin.
