Warwick Estate Trilogy (Single Jeroboam) 2008

Warwick Estate Trilogy (Single Jeroboam) 2008

Pinotage, Medium Bodied, Dry, 14.00% alcohol, Cork, (Single 500cl Bordeaux Jeroboam Bottle)

One of the star wines of South Africa and referred to as many top names in Bordeaux as it’s a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 64%, Merlot 18%, Cabernet Franc 18% and even mature in French Barraques. I did the horrible thing of giving Bill Blatch (Bordeaux Negoc. and one of the top authorities on Bordeaux) as glass and he valued it at £30 bottle of wine.

Here are some wine critic notes for the Warwick Estate Trilogy 2008:

Jancis Robinson 17 (2007) - Re 2007. Published : 20-Oct-2009. Pure cassis fruit and just a tad leafy on the nose. On the palate, very claret-like but with an added layer of sweetness and accessibility at this age. Dense and rich even with that slight leafy edge. Pure and long and mouthfilling but still very fresh and mouthwatering on the finish.(JH). When to drink : 2010 to 2015.

Wine Spectator 90 (2007) - Issue Nov 30, 2010 - A dark, rich style, displaying fig, boysenberry, bittersweet ganache and linzer torte flavors all backed by ample tobacco and licorice notes. The broad, muscular finish is nicely defined, despite its heft. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. –JM
