Very ripe and focussed and intense on the nose. Suprisingly gentle for a St-Estephe. The polar opposite of the Phelan Segur - almost disconcertingly smooth. Competent but ultimately a bit workmanlike. Full, round, easy- just slightly too flattering on the palate perhaps but awfully easy and full of charm. Another airline (ie early maturing, please-all) wine? Certainly no shortage of fine 2005 tannins. Very dry finish. Well done. Drink 2009-18 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com
