Chateau D'Issan 2003

  • Chateau D'Issan 2003
  • Cabernet Sauvignon, Medium Bodied, Dry, 12.50% alcohol, Cork, (Case of 12 x 75cl Bottles)
  • Emmanuel Cruse has seriously increased the quality here in recent years without pushing up the price. Production is 30% down to 7500 cases, 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot with 50% new wood. Yields down to 36 hl/ha. The aim here is to go for balance not over-extraction. Emmanuel believes it to be one of the best wines that he has ever made - similar to the 2000 but with more elegance. A Margaux that tastes like Margaux - sweet blackcurrant, not forced, smoky mineral character. Not a heavyweight but elegant and supple. “ Great Value Margaux. D'Issan is back on form
  • Price inc. VAT: £311.40
    Bottle Price inc. VAT: £25.95

Critic Notes for this Wine

Jancis Robinson

Very deep crimson. Sweet, floral, easy, loose. Needs much more structure or acidity to validate it. Pleasant drink but not Margaux. 2007 to 2013
