Background
This wine was found by James Goodhart, is fantastic value for the quality of the wine.   The Domaines vineyards extend over 20 hectares planted with a majority of old vines and nestled at the foot of La Chaine des Alberes, Pyrenees.

Traditionally fermented and aged in oak barrels for 12 months.  On the nose and palate this is a soft, smooth and well rounded wine with subtle spice on the long and fruity finish.  Bright ruby red in colour with mature red berry fruit and vanilla aromas on the nose.

What do I eat with it….
Goes fantastically with a winter warm casserole, roast lamb, roasted vegetables or red berry puddings, blackberry and apple crumble.

Bon Coeur Fine Wine Tastings

Friday, September 26th, 2008

The number of wines on our list is expanding all the time, and we relish the opportunity to show some of the wines in our range to our customer’s at our annual wine tastings.

Some of the most exciting wines to be added to our list recently are the wines of Sumaridge, South Africa. Winemaker Gavin Paterson (formally of Hamilton Russell) is passionate about his wines and the sheer quality is remarkable.

Also new to our list and definitely worth trying are the new ‘Mapu‘ wines from Chile (owned and run by Domaines Baron Philippe de Rothschild). The best thing about these wines is that they offer great value for money without compromising on quality.

At this year’s tastings we will be showing a wide range of wine from all over the world including; from Burgundy, we have the new wines from Henry Fessy, Nicolas Potel, Verget, Vincent Girardin and JJ Girard. An interesting selection of clarets including Gigault Cru Bourgeous 99, Dasvin Belair 98 and the Larose Beauloieu 2001.

In the coming weeks we have the following wine tastings, please let us know if you would like to attend:

North Yorkshire – Masham
