This large estate, contiguous with Château Margaux and Château Lascombes is cited in Edouard Féret's 1868 edition and records the existence of lands belonging to "The Noble House of La Bégorce" since 1332.
Château Labégorce is presented as being "…one of the finest and the best situated in the commune of Margaux".
