Chateau de Beaucastel
Chateauneuf-du-Pape is the appellation of the future in France. With its extraordinary terroirs, old vines, and increasing numbers of vignerons willing to produce high quality wine, the potential for greatness is unlimited. One of the major catalysts for this appellation is Chateau de Beaucastel, owned by Francois and Jean-Pierre Perrin. While it is not a typical Chateauneuf-du-Pape (because of the high percentage of Mourvedre), the Perrins believe in natural winemaking, unfiltered wines, and routinely produce long-lived classics that are amongst the finest in the world.
